Lonam jewellery designs are inspired by ancient Adinkra Symbols, created in Ghana, and used throughout parts of West Africa. The ancient sacred symbols serve as decoration to help focus the mind and help the wearer manifest the mystical underlying meaning into reality. The symbols also represent thought-provoking messages, aspects of day-to-day life, simple truths and traditional wisdom.
Adinkra symbols feature prominently in Ghanaian royal occasional dress and jewellery normally made in solid gold.
